Then Versus Now
This a series I have created to show situations that I saw happening in my life with narcissists as they occurred but still stuck within those situations for whatever reason. Whether it was a matter of simply being blinded by deception or not seeing my own worth, I have since grown to realize that my reactions and responses back then certainly could have and should have been much different than I would have wanted them to be if they occurred now.
“Then” was a time that I was walking in elements of darkness with narcissists, but “now” that I have detached from those situations and people, I am walking in elements of light. Although I still have a long way to go on my journey to healing form narcissistic abuse, I still want to share my experiences in hopes that anyone who reads them will gain insight into their own life situations with narcissists or narcissistic types. There is a lot we can learn from our own mistakes, but we can also learn from the mistakes of others. Believe me when I say I have made a lot of mistakes, and some of those mistakes were actually very bad choices.
“Now” I would not say that I am completely walking in light because I still experience dark days. In fact, I feel completely lost in so many ways on this journey. Yet, I am happy to be free of so many of the narcissistic situations that entangled my voice and kept it chained up. This is my time to use my voice to speak freely and share.
