A narcissist depends on people they don’t respect because they need constant validation, control, and attention. All of these facets result in them getting narcissistic supply which they ultimately need to thrive. However, their lack of respect comes from seeing others as tools rather than equals. They believe they are superior but still need others to prop up their ego.
