When the System Gaslights You

When You’re the One Who Sees Clearly in a System That Pretends Not to Know

There’s a type of professional warfare that doesn’t look like open aggression. It looks like:

  • Ghosted emails
  • Praise followed by random critique
  • Being breadcrumbed critical information
  • Having your clarity repackaged as “difficult” or “disruptive”
  • People hired with no qualifications but treated as more capable than you
  • Watching your excellence slowly flattened into invisibility

This is what happens when a seer or a truth-teller walks into a system built on survival, favoritism, or dysfunction.

What It Feels Like:

  • You’re overqualified, but constantly underestimated
  • You’re professionally isolated for refusing to play games
  • You’re forced to watch underqualified people be protected while you’re scrutinized
  • You are managing more, but supported less
  • You speak truth, and they meet it with silence or strategy

You are not imagining it.

You are not difficult.

You are being gaslit and spiritually targeted by a system that’s both afraid of and threatened by your clarity.

What You’ve Likely Experienced:

  • Erasure: Your contributions are either dismissed or co-opted by others
  • Competition: People with far less experience try to one-up you to gain favor
  • Monitoring: Every move you make is watched for mistakes, not wins
  • Triangulation: Coworkers are turned against you through gossip or proximity
  • Performance: Meetings become shows where silence is misread as weakness and insight is framed as arrogance

How You Survive Without Selling Your Soul:

  • You recognize the game, but don’t play it.
  • You do your job—but not at the expense of your peace.
  • You speak truth, but only when it’s safe or strategic.
  • You document everything—not out of paranoia, but for protection.
  • You remain unmoved, even if uncelebrated.

You are the clarity in a foggy room. That’s why they try to fog up your vision with noise, pressure, and confusion. But you already see too much to be misled. That’s your gift—and that’s what they can’t take.

Closing Words:

This is temporary. Systems that eat their best people don’t last forever. But neither do your assignments within them.

Until you’re released—protect your spirit, guard your gifts, and keep your posture upright.

You were never meant to shrink here.
You were sent to survive, see, and carry wisdom out with you.
